Chickens!

We've wanted to get chickens for a while, and the time has come!

Elio and I picked out a couple chicks the other day. We have; Lucy, a yellow chicken who will grow up to be white with a little bit of black, Millie is brown and will stay about the same color, and Coco who's mostly black with a little white who will also stay about the same color.

I decided I wanted to build my own chicken coop. So far it looks great...and my dad has done about 99% percent of the work (thanks Dad!). Elio and Nico are keeping me pretty busy, I'm lucky my dad understands, and I kinda think he's having fun with it.

Here's a picture of the chicken coop that inspired me to build ours:

I'll put up some pic's of our progress and baby chickens soon.

Nico's Baptism

Today we had Nico baptized in the First Presbyterian Church. Kyle and I did something a little unconventional for Nico. We decided to choose two Godfathers instead of the traditional Godfather and Godmother. We felt my brother Richard, and Kyle's cousin Anthony, would be a good fit. They're very involved in Nico and Elio's lives, and make a big effort at being there for our family. After starting our family we have realized how important it is to have people we trust, and know will always be there for us. We are very thankful to have those people in our lives♥

Avon Walk

I'm so excited to have the chance to participate in the Walk. It's going to be such a great experience and it is for such a wonderful cause. I want raise enough money, and train enough (it's a really long walk!) to make it all the way to the end.

I need to raise $1,800.00 in order to walk the 39 mile race on July 10th and 11th 2010. I really could use the support of my friends and family. Any donation will help.
Here's the link:

You can print out a receipt and use it for your taxes, you can also check to see how I'm doing along the way.

I also posted a link on the right side of the page for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
